Space Jam was one of my favourite movies growing up; Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan. I used to watch it over and over again.
I recently found my old Space Jam tape…

… and realised it was released 13 years ago. Scary.

Scary indeed.

Just look at Michael Jordan’s face there. Look at it. He doesn’t want to be there. With Bugs Bunny.

In completely unrelated-to-the-internet news, I’ve got myself a new job teaching kids to sing. 14 and under. Most of the kids I teach we not alive during the release of Space Jam. So, well done Petra. You’ve made me feel quite old. It’s impressive to make the admin of a website, designed to make you feel old, feel old. Petrifying.

Yes. Yes we shall.

So, when Buffy started, Anthony Stewart Head was 42 years old. Buffy has been off the air for six years now. Wait another six years, and Xander, Cordelia and Angel will all be older than the “stuffy professor” Giles was in the first episode.

EDIT: Ed Atlin from wheresmyshoe reminds me that “Angel is already older than Giles in vampire years”. How very droll.

This bollocks was two years ago. Two. Years ago. Doesn’t feel like it, does it? I live in Newcastle. My favourite thing about this was it occurred the week Alan Shearer was signing his new book at the WH Smith next door. People queueing for that reached the end of the shop. People queueing because they were fretting about Northern Rock reached to the end of the street. I felt sorry for Alan Shearer that day.

Are you saying Goosebumps started seventeen years ago? Wait, no… are you saying there hasn’t been a Goosebumps book in over 12 years?! I’m not counting the silly “Goosebumps 2000” novel line. They were rubbish.

I have been meaning to email you for a while. I have two facts to make you feel old. Firstly most of the students who are starting University this autumn were not even born when MC Hammer released “U Can’t Touch This”.

Secondly I noticed my Wallace and Gromit T shirt was looking a bit worn so I looked at the label in it and the copyright said 1989. And sure enough A Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit will be 20 years old this Christmas.

So then I put these two facts together and realised that half my clothes are probably older than the students starting University.

However this last fact is probably of little interest to your readers.

We’ll let my readers be the judge of that

Troy McClure hasn’t appeared in an episode of the Simpsons for 11 years.

It’s very true. It also means that Lionel Hutz hasn’t appeared in the show for the same amount of time as both brilliant characters were voiced by the same man, Phil Hartman, who was tragically killed in 1998.

Before his death, Hartman had often expressed an interest in starring in a live-action film about McClure, which would be penned by some of the show’s writers. He noted that he was “looking forward to his live-action movie, publicizing McClure’s times at rehab”.

Rest in Peace, that man.

I was sent a huge email from the beautifully named Sam Van den Broeck, so to make up for the fact there haven’t been many updates recently*, this week is dedicated to all the points they’ve put in the email!

Blimey. That makes me feel a bit depressed. Oh! I know! Hakuna Matata! There. All better.

*The reason why there’s hardly been any updates? Well, it turns out that I’m going to become a parent. Talk about feeling old.
