I stumbled onto your site today via the Buzzfeed link someone posted on Facebook, suddenly all these random facts occurred to me that I though I would share with you, do with them what you wish.
The year I was born 1983: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was released in theatres.
1980: CDs were released, 15 years later the 1st MP3 player was released in 1995, four years later Napster was born.
1989: the 3rd Indiana Jones movie the Last Crusade was released, 19 years later the 2008 Crystal Skull was released, that was 3 years ago
1991: 20 years ago these things occurred
- March of that year the video of Rodney King being beaten is released, the officers responsible will be acquitted the following year, which caused the LA riots
- Also March of that year the Birmingham 6 are released
- June of that year Apartheid is repealed
- Silence of Lambs is released that year
1999:
- It’s been 12 years since the Y2K freak out
- It has been 12 years Since the Slim Shady LP
2000:
- PS2 was released and Elian Gonzalez was shipped back to his father in Cuba, he is now 18
- the First X-Men movie was released, hooray Wolverine!
2001 - the year I graduated High School:
- You can not go anywhere there is a teenage girl without encountering Backstreet Boys or N’Sync they even performed together one time only on an award show
- Lady Marmalade won video of the year at the MTV Video Awards (american version)
- Mariah Carey releases Glitter - and has a weird visit on TRL
- The Spice Girls broke up, 6 years later they got back together 2007 that was 4 years ago
- Lizzie McGuire premiered on the Disney Channel, she is currently expecting her first child at the age of 24 she was 14 when the show aired
- Smallville debuted this year, and ended 10 years later in 2011
My Grandmother had a rotary phone until 2004 - she also still has a record player that has an 8track player built into it
